August 13th 2012:
Cabins of the Day: 7, 15, 13
All three counselors in cabin 7 are named David therefore their sign is a triangle for "Tri-David".
Cabin 13 reached high for the sky!
Cabin 15 went with the stealthy spy look!
August 12th, 2012:
Getting ready to sign up for activities.
Today, the whole camp gathered to watch counselors do skits and promote the activities they are teaching so the kids can figure out which activities they will sign up for later in the day!

Later in the evening we had a carnival where campers could go to lots of different activities such as taking pictures with disney characters!
They also had the option to get pied in the face!
August 11th, 2012:
No Cabins of the Day :(
Today, the LIT's lead an original game that they created and organized for all of camp. The premise was that the "Gold Tablet" had been stolen from the museum and each cabin had to search camp for clues to retrieve the treasure!
Other characters that cabins had to interact with were the Cow Boys and Native Americans.
After the game, campers were served either chocolate or vanilla ice cream with their choice of sprinkles, whipped cream, and chocolate or caramel sauce!
And at the end of the day, campers danced the night away at the Camp Dance!

Creative writing class sat down and contemplated life in the form of letters!
Hiking took a trip around a lake and stopped at this scenic area.
Expedition Class took to the climbing tower for today. All of the campers made epic ascents!
Windsurfing scooted around on their boards on this lazy afternoon.
Outdoor cooking class came inside today to make some sweeeet vanilla ice cream!

Cabin 1 turned into the Magic School Bus this session. Sounds like they have a lot of exciting "stops" on the bus this session.
Cabin 2, lookin' good as always!
Paddle boarding class had some fun in the water today, learning how to use their paddles!
Expedition class took the adventure to the indoor climbing cave for today!

First day of 4th Session! It's our last session of the summer and the staff are going all out! We have many special events planned such as basketball tournaments, DJ Lunches, CHAOS, and much more!
We started the session with an awesome Opening campfire where counselors told stories and performed skits on stage.

Cabins of the Day: 10 and 17!
Cabin 10 tried to make a "10" with their hands and kept a serious face.
Cabin 17 kept it classy and dressed up really nice for their picture!
In the morning, cabins were assigned a country for this Olympics-themed week and they had the chance to create an original flag for that country!
Navy Seals class did some jumping jacks to warm up for the day!
The oldest campers in the Yurts are taking a Guard Start class where they learn how to make saves further out in the lake.

Cabins of the Day: 9 and Buckingham!
Since cabin 9 and Buckingham are brother/sister cabins, they decided to take their picture together and it looks great!
Today we were happy to have lots of new campers arrive and hangout with their new cabin-mates
Cabins played a game of "Where's Waldo", where they must talk to 8 people all dressed in the same way to get clues as to who the REAL Waldo is!
In the evening we held a "Barnyard" themed carnival where campers got 10 tickets for free and 20 extra tickets if they donated 2 dollars to the YMCA's in the Dominican Republic.

The Media Director was unable to take many pictures today because of driving all of our wonderful spanish campers back to JFK International Airport yesterday but we were able to take some great pictures of the camp dance, which is a tradition held every other Saturday at Camp Woodstock

Cabin 8 piled into the Camp's new maintenance vehicle for their pic!
Cabin 18 put up their moose antlers and some even dressed up as aliens!
Campers had the option to sabotage other activities this morning with water guns!
In the evening, cabins ran around camp looking for "Ghosts" from Woodstock legends but this camper took a break to show off her skills in gymnastics!

Cabin 14 took a different tactic and went with the "beard" look.
Dance class played a game of musical chairs.
Frisbee class ran drills where they had to run to catch a frisbee that was thrown over their heads from behind.

Cabins of the Day: 7 and 15!
Cabin 7 wanted to highlight the one traffic sign at camp.
Cabin 15 is loving this sunny day!
Cabin 19 had a fake bat-mitzvah in the morning and did all the fun parts of this Coming-of-age ceremony.
Cabin 2 did "Overnight Training" where they simulated bear chases and fighting monsters of the night.
Cabin 9 played a game of Ultimate Frisbee in the water just to make things a little more challenging.

Cabins of the Day: 5 and 13!
This may be the most human pyramids I've ever seen at the same time!
Cabin 5 wanted to show how well they've bonded by standing strong in a line with each other.
A brother and sister cabin did a "speed dating" activity where they got to know each other a bit better.
Yoga class helped campers channel their inner zen this morning.
Fishing was slow today but campers still had some great fun!

Cabins of the Day: 1 and 2!
Cabin 1 went all out for their picture of the day!
Cabin 2 stood on our own "Pride Rock" to re-enact the scene from the Lion King
Some campers enjoyed morning yoga.
In the evening, campers participated in "Zombie Evening with the Stars" where each cabin had to impress dead celebrities, such as Steve Jobs, in order to get their signatures!

Lunch: Burritos with rice, beans, cheese, grilled chicken, salad

Session 2 is HERE! We have so many adventures planned for the campers this session and lots of Olympic themed activities! For the first week of the session, we also have the pleasure of inviting 2 to 3 LITs into the cabins to shadow the counselors and lead activities for the campers! So if you see pics of kids wearing bright blue shirts, those are the LITs!
When campers first arrived, they had time to chill out and meet their new bunk mates!
Then campers were taken down to the waterfront for a swim check by the Waterfront and Boating Directors.
And in the evening, all of camp gathered at the Council Ring for an Opening campfire, filled with skits and songs!
July 8th Menu:
The kids came to camp this afternoon just in time for a dinner full of turkey, mashed potatoes, breadsticks, and a lovely salad bar!

Cabins of the Day: Yurts!
During the weekend in between the first and second week of the session, the yurters took a camping trip where they went hiking to the top of this peak!
In the morning kids could choose activities they wanted to take part in, including a dance party on the porch or dodgeball in the New Building!
In the evening we played the most famous game at Camp, CHAOS!
July 4th, 2012!
Cabin of the Day: Cabin 12!
Cabin 12 sat by the new beautiful rocks decorated by the day campers on this lovely 4th of July.
Instead of a morning bell, we decided to wake campers up with a firetruck ringing it's siren all through camp!
Campers then had the option to decorate a flag or banner for their own personal float in a parade!
Hiking class went on an epic hike to the top of a mountain with a beautiful view.
But Hiking class made it back just in time for the July 4th Parade put together by each cabin.
After the parade, kids got face painted, cotton candy, snow cones, and lemonade!

Cabin of the Day: Cabin 19!!
Cabin 19 wanted to show off the new "Weather Rock" When the rock is wet, it's raining outside, when it's dry, the weather is sunny!
Archery Class shot some of their first bulls eyes of the week!
Some boys and girls gave it their best shot at jumping the bridge while walking back from the dining hall.
During the evening game, Apocalypse, cabins had to avoid mutant survivors like this guy with the pitchfork in order to find resources for a new life!
While the Apocalypse was going on, the Yurters were having their own dance party to end the night with a BANG!
Cabin 8 slept out under the stars around a big campfire.

Cabin 10 got up close and personal.
Cabin 18 did the classic sassy pose.
And we finished the night with an evening free swim and open activities.

Cabins of the Day: 9 and Buckingham Lodge!
The girls from buckingham put on their rugged faces when showing off this rugged car.
Cabin 9 also put on some mean faces around this car. (Do I sense competition??)
We started the day off with some inspirational speeches at the camp chapel overlooking the lake. Then we transitioned straight into a swim across the lake with any campers that thought they were up to the task.
While the cabins at main camp were getting new campers, the spanish LIT's along with the rest of the LIT group watched the Euro Cup Championship game between Spain and Italy. (Spain won 4-0!!)

Cabin 8 apparently thought the camp car looked a little lonely all by itself
Cabin 15 tried to keep a straight face for this pic, the kew word is "TRIED".
In the morning, cabins competed in an original game created by the CIT's. Looks like this cabin had to impress a turtle to complete one stage of the game!
In the afternoon we supplied some slips and slides on the field in front of Roskin Lodge.
Then, in the evening, we threw a camp-wide dance!

Cabin 7 took to the trees for some peace under the shade on this hot day!
Cabin 16 has been having a great session and they are certainly enjoying their new porch added to the cabin in memory of Emily Ayre.
Cabin 6 played costume kickball for a fun morning activity
Windsurfing class tested out their balance with different games while standing on their boards!
Fishing class put on their FIERCE faces to intimidate the meanest fish in the pond.

Cabin of the Day: Wabbaquasset!
Here's a picture of the first group of Day Campers at Camp Woodstock, also known as the Wabbaquasset!
Today at Arts and Crafts, they were able to see the results of their beautiful tie-dye skills!

Cabin 17 gave their best doggy faces for their picture!
Cabin 6 put on their mean faces to show how fierce they can be!
Cabin 9 did a "Drivers Ed" activity in the morning, with grocery carts and hard hats!
Cabin 16 had a house warming party during rest hour for their new poch addition in memory of Emily Ayre.
Cabin 7 and 15 held a Cardboard Regada to see who had the most nautical skill.

Cabins of the Day: 3 and 14
Cabin 14 loving their third day at camp and hangin' with some soccer balls!
Cabin 3 was chillin on the new fence at the Dining Hall.
In the morning we offered the kids all types of crazy activities such as "Hunger Games Survival" which Campbell, the girl in this picture, is taking part in.
Trevor tested his skills out on the archery range.
Arts and Crafts class had fun decorating bottles with paint and tissue paper.
In the evening, while the campers were playing a game of "Eye Spy" the LIT's gathered in front of a beautiful sunset sky for a picture.
June 26th Menu:
Breakfast: Waffles, bacon, greek yogurt, oatmeal, nutri-grain bars
Lunch: Calzones, Salad bar, chicken noodle soup, Peanut butter and Jelly, brownies

Cabins of the Day: 1 and 2!
Cabin 1 found crazy hats and CPR dummies that they couldn't resist bringing into their picture!
Cabin 2 went with their funniest faces, and maybe one grass skirt for their picture!
In the morning cabins participated in skits during the rainstorm. Here's some pictures of them practicing in their cabin and performing on stage:
After lunch, we moved into period 3 and 4 activities where kids did lots of different games and sports.
And we finished the day with "Evening with the stars" a game where campers have to go around and get signatures from "Celebrities" around camp.
One of the celebrities around camp was Shrek, played by Sam Hyder, a second-year senior counselor.
The Menu for June 25th, 2012:
Breakfast: French Toast, Sausage links, Greek yogurt, Cereal, Orange Juice
Lunch: Tacos with refried beans, rice, beef, cheese, along with a salad bar. And popsicles for dessert!
Dinner: Buffalo and BBQ chicken wings, mac and cheese, broccoli, baked beans and salad bar.
Campers arrived yesterday and the Camp Woodstock staff could not be happier!
After check-in, counselors led their cabins in group games while they waited to jump in the lake for a quick swim check.
After the swim check, campers then had the option to sign up for 4 different activities that they will be taking each day this week.
And to finish the day, we gathered for an opening camp fire after a turkey dinner with sides of mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing!
