Upcoming Events/ Volunteer Opportunities
Expect a call from a Woodstocker this month. Phonathons will be happening in the evenings throughout January. If you would like to volunteer to raise money for the Strong Kids Campaign, call camp at 1-800-782-2344 for details. You will have a lot of fun helping a child come to camp. And dinner is on us!
February
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Black Pond Plunge for 2012. Please check back with us in the fall about this event for 2013. Until then, join us at some of the AWESOME events listed below!
May
We are excited to host our second annual Wine Tasting at the Pond House in West Hartford. Tickets will go on sale starting in February and all proceeds will benefit the Strong Kids Campaign. Please mark your calendars to join us for this fantastic event.
Are you looking for an opportunity to visit camp and help out at the same time? We have a Volunteer Work Day on May 5, 2012 here at Camp. Wear some work clothes, come to camp, and help us get ready for the summer fun. Hammer some shingles, paint a cabin, repair a trail or hang a sign. Call for details and work projects. Lunch is on us!
See the place where your camper will have the best summer experience of their life! Our annual Open House is Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 2:30-4:30. Tours will be led by summer camp counselors and LITs, who can help answer your questions and tell you why they love Camp Woodstock so much. Can't make this date? Call 1-800-782-2344 to schedule a private tour--we're here year round!
June
The Black Pond Biathlon is Saturday, June 16th! The prospect of a 1/2 mile swim and 5k run at beautiful Camp Woodstock will help your workouts stay motivated through the winter! Registration form and more info to come!
July and August
Help us meet Camp Woodstock's international mission and help the Dominican Republic YMCA. At each check in during the summer, we cook hamburgers and hot dogs for the family members dropping off their campers. The donations we receive from the cookouts go directly to the YMCA in the Dominican Republic. Help out during a check in--or even go to the Dominican YMCA with us to see our mission dollars at work!
Summer in the City

Now that the yurts are built, we only need to fill them with "yurters"! The 20 oldest campers who stay for a two week session will live, learn and play in New Yurt City this summer. Check out more about his new program on the Summer Camp page.
Each of the two well-appointed lodging yurts contain 12 beds. The gathering yurt has comfortable seating for 24. The distinctiveness of New Yurt City's facilities and programs are an exciting addition to Camp Woodstock.
October
Nothing says "Autumn" like the annual Fall Harvest Festival at Camp. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon & evening of hay rides, crafts, dinner, music, and campfire. Tickets will go on sale beginning in August.
